BOULDER, COLORADO! Jan 12th!

Posted on Dec 26th, 2007 by Zaanghas : Let's change the world Zaanghas
WhenSaturday, January 12th 2008  from Noon to 3pm

Where

Folsom Street Coffee
1795 Folsom St
Boulder, CO 80302
(303) 440-8808

zDETAILS:  What a wonderful opportunity we have to get together, meet each other in person and get a feel for the passion that our community has and the changes they want to create in the world!  I've spoken with Rick, the owner of Folsom Street Coffee, and he has reserved space for Zaadzsters to meet in their roomy establishment!  Folsom Street Coffee also has wireless internet access, so if you'd like to bring your laptops - you are more than welcome to do so!  I figure that we will be sharing many aspects of ourselves with the people that we meet!  I highly encourage bringing any pamphlets or business cards to hand out to people that you will be meeting ... the idea here is to make some local connections and get the network moving offline concurrently with the online connections.

If you know you will be attending please email me here on Zaadz, or directly at kelly@zaadz.com ... that way I can better prepare the space (and surprises) for the number of people attending.  I also assumed that this would be a great place to mix, mingle, come & go, and network quite casually ... while also making some really great friendship connections.  There will be a couple of interactive pieces to play with ... that will be brought back to the online experience to share with everyone!  So, the one hint I'd like to give:  Think about what you are most passionate about and how you are sharing that with the world - or your community.

Beverages are obviously purchasable at the Folsom Street Coffee establishment, they serve (well, clearly...) Espresso Drinks, Coffee & Tea, and "Everything Else" ... as well as Goodies to Eat!!

I am SO looking forward to meeting up with many of my virtual friends... finally in person!!!

Top 10 Tips for Organizing Your Zaangha

Posted on Aug 24th, 2007 by Zaanghas : Let's change the world Zaanghas
This is Jessica :)

Wanna organize a Zaangha?

That’s awesome!! Creating a Zaangha is a powerful way to contribute to our community here at Zaadz. These events can be life-changing because beautiful and unexpected things always happen when Zaadzsters come together. So, a HUGE thank you to all of the Zaangha organizers and community catalysts out there. You are playing an essential role, making a big difference and you are amazing.

Now, here is a list of our top ten things you should know to get your Zaangha off the ground:

1)    Choose a location, activity and time: A Zaangha can be simple or elaborate. It all depends on the time and resources available. It can be as easy as going to a local coffee shop or as creative and complex as you like. One Zaadzster even suggested arranging an entire concert for the Zaadz community, another suggested a volunteer project for coastal cleanup. A Zaangha can be any size, shape or color. It’s up to you. Do what you can do. You can also make the type of event a group decision. But, I suggest you, as the organizer(s), provide some options for people to choose from.  Look here if you need ideas!

2)    Inviting People #1: This is the most important part of creating a Zaangha. You need other Zaadzsters, and maybe some of their friends. There are already a lot of local pods. Check here for yours and post about your Zaangha. If there isn't one, you can start it! You can also contact the individual members and the pod cultivator to reach out. Don’t forget to post here at our Zaangha HQ, you may reach some people who aren’t in your local pod or don’t have their location listed in their profile. You should also post in zEvents.

3)    Inviting People #2: After that, go to the Zaadzsters section and put your city or region into the search field. It may take a bit of time to contact people individually, but it’s worth it. A great strategy is to recruit people to help you plan the Zaangha. I organized the first Zaangha before we even called them that and I got a friend (Hi Nancy) to help me send invites to local Zaadzsters. You can split them up alphabetically. No need to go it alone.

4)    Inviting People #3: You can invite non-Zaadzsters and tell everyone to bring a friend who would love to meet some beautiful & conscious people.

5)    RSVPs: Ask people to RSVP in your invite so you have at least a general idea of how many people are coming.

6)    Provide Contact Info: You want to give people clear directions to the place you will meet including a link to the website or google maps. You should also provide your contact info so people can reach you to RSVP or get last minute info on the day of the event. If you don’t want to post this on Zaadz, you can wait for people to RSVP and then give it to them. If you just give your Zaadz info, they might not be able to get in touch on Zaangha day.

7)    Activities for the Zaangha: There are some great tips in the Zaangha Manual for icebreakers and discussion. Here are a few more things you can do by using the tools already on Zaadz:
  • Questions & Reflections for icebreakers! Choose your favorite three and bring them to the group. You can even bring art supplies and create a work of art out of your answers.
  • Quotes on Zaadz! Ask everyone to pick out his or her favorite quote and share it at the Zaangha.

8)    Take Photos: Don’t forget your camera and to post your pics on Zaadz! Tag your photos with the word "Zaangha."

9)    Stay in Touch: Use your local pod to stay in touch and plan events for the future.

10)     Contact Us: Jessica (jessica@zaadz.com) or Dave (ninja@zaadz.com) We’re you’re personal party consultants, your community organizers, your Zaangha elves. At your service.

The Second Annual Global Zaangha Day!

Posted on Aug 22nd, 2007 by Zaanghas : Let's change the world Zaanghas
Hello Everyone,

Jessica here :)

I have exciting news! Saturday, September 15th will be the Second Annual Global Zaangha Day!!!

There have been quite a few changes at Zaadz in the past few weeks but one thing that remains is the incredible community. We are so lucky to have so many conscious, brilliant and just darn good people here at Zaadz. Let’s celebrate each other and come together on September 15th! It’s an awesome chance to meet other Zaadzsters and their wonderful friends. It’s a great way to celebrate all that we’ve created together as Zaadz has grown and blossomed.

On our first Global Zaangha Day last year we had 11 Zaanghas in cities all over the world including Singapore, Belgrade, London and Capetown. Let’s make this year even better. All we need to do is start organizing! There’s something so amazing and synergistic about having Zaadzsters all over the world come together on one day. So, let’s make it happen!

Creating a Zaangha is EASY. Check out these tips!
  • First, decide what kind of event you'd like to host and a location. It could be a dinner at a local veggie restaurant or a bowling party.

  • After you've chosen your time and place it's time to invite friends and post about it on Zaadz. Many cities already have Zaangha pods. Is yours listed here? If so, you can reach out to Zaadzsters in your local pod. Also, you can search the Zaadzsters section by location and invite people in your area. Make sure to provide contact info for attendees so people can stay in touch and get to the event :)

  • There are a lot of options for the day of the event. You can play games, have discussions on a previously chosen topic, or simply mingle. Check out our Zaangha pdf manual for more great ideas and these tips from our very own C4Chaos

  • Most importantly, make sure to post about your upcoming event at our Zaangha Headquarters! You can also post in the zEvents section. There are many pods dedicated to Zaanghas and bringing people together. Post there as well! Don't forget to take photos to share on Zaadz!

Here are some ideas from Zaanghas past & future:
Beach parties, potlucks, volunteering, hikes & nature walks, star watching, dinners, concerts, brunch, breakfast, lunch, coffee, tea parties, house parties, movie nights, picnics, museum visits, game nights, pool parties, poetry readings, theatre going, dancing, cooking parties, fundraisers, and more! If you have other ideas post them here .

If you need any help planning your Zaangha or some extra coaching please contact me at Jessica@zaadz.com for west coast events or Dave at ninja@zaadz.com if you’re on the east coast. If you are in the middle or international, you can pick! We’d absolutely love to help out! Consider us your personal party consultants.

It’s going to be zaanghalicious!
